I tried to link to these from a messageboard and they
didn't show up! Why not?
They didn't show up because I have disabled hotlinking
to my images. Every time you paste the URL of one of my
images directly to another site, it chews up my bandwidth.
I have 20 gigs of bandwidth per month, and it can go surprisingly
quickly. As I type this it's 14 January and I am nearly
at the halfway point for my January bandwidth already. I
pay for my bandwidth and I'm not willing to pay more than
I currently do, so if this continues I either take some
downloads off the site, or the site goes down.
I originally did this because some idiot hotlinked every
single Taggart screencap on my site into a messageboard
at 'Always & Forever: Elijah Wood', and I went through
a quarter of my bandwidth for the month in TWO DAYS because
every single person who read that thread was loading every
single screencap every single time.
In short: please don't hotlink. It's not polite. Send people
direct to my site instead, so they can view the thumbnail
versions and only download the big pics that they really
want to see.
I can't see your clips because I don't have WinZip!
Well, get it :) It's shareware and you can download the
evaluation version for free. You won't be able to download
many programs or clips from anywhere if you don't have Winzip.
If you have a Mac, you can use Stuffit to unzip zipfiles.
I have to put the downloads up as zips, because if I don't,
people watch the same clip over and over again, downloading
it from my site and eating up my bandwidth every time.
